Crushed by the disappointment of England’s failure to qualify for USA 94, Cosgrove Hall went into hibernation for a year. Boosted slightly by the opening of the Channel Tunnel and legalised Sunday Trading, we spent most of 1994 eating good cheese and smoked garlic whilst easing ourselves into the new liberal culture of visiting DIY superstores on a Sunday morning still in our slippers.
